type design

Mushroom Pillow was developed from the influence of late 60s, and early 70s handlettered typefaces from album covers and posters. Also pulling inspiration from art nouveau typefaces, Mushroom Pillow is curvy, whispy, groovy and psychedelic. This typeface is named after the song “Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow” by 1960s psych rock band, Strawberry Alarmclock. Pictured here, is spreads from the type specimen book.
